クリアウォーター・クレーター群は、クリアウォーター西クレーターとクリアウォーター東クレーターの、2つの円形のクレーターからなる。
クリアウォーター東には中央丘が、クリアウォーター西にはリング状のリッジがある。
シャッターコーンが発見されており、衝突起源であることが証明されている。基盤岩は太古代に形成されたスペリオル・プロビンスの花崗岩・片麻岩からなる。
